<p>Over the years, people have doubted the effectiveness of aromatherapy for weight loss. More recently, though, scientists have studied the relationship between weight loss and the sense of smell. And they&#8217;ve reached some interesting conclusions. </p>
<p>So&#8230; Can you use aromatherapy for weight loss? The short answer is &#8220;Yes&#8221;. </p>
<p>This is not to say that aromatherapy is a &#8220;magic bullet&#8221; or instant weight loss cure &#8211; there is no such thing. But aromatherapy can be a valuable part of a healthy, sensible weight loss program.</p>
<p>Aromatherapy does two things: It can help manage cravings and feelings of hunger, and it can also address some contributors to weight issues such as stress, anxiety and depression.</p>
<p><strong>How Aromatherapy for Weight Loss Works</strong></p>
<p>Research shows that appetite and the sense of smell are closely connected. In fact, studies have found that our sense of smell actually triggers feelings of fullness <em>before</em> our stomach does.</p>
<p>When you inhale an essential oil, its microscopic molecules directly affect a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. An area inside the hypothalamus called the &#8220;satiety center&#8221; controls feelings of hunger/fullness.</p>
<p>The satiety center &#8216;reads&#8217; certain essential oil molecules as a signal that you are full. And the good news is, this happens much faster than your brain gets the signals from your stomach telling you you&#8217;re full &#8211; so you feel full sooner!</p>
<p>The most well-known essential oil for weight loss is Pink Grapefruit.</p>
<p>Basil, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cumin, Dill, Fennel, Ginger, Lemon, Marjoram, Patchouli, Peppermint, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Thyme, Vanilla and Ylang Ylang are some other appetite-suppressing essential oils for weight loss.</p>

<p>15 drops Basil essential oil<br />15 drops Marjoram essential oil<br />1 drop Oregano essential oil<br />1 drop Thyme essential oil</p>
<p>To use your aromatherapy weight loss inhaler, take three long, slow, deep breaths of the aroma. Take a short break, then take three more deep breaths. Do this three times.  Sniff long and hard through each nostril. Really flood your nose with scent &#8211; in this case, more is better!</p>

<br />you can start going to the gym and ask her to join it with you after awile.<br />
that way you guys can both be doing it. and she wont feel like your sending her to the gym</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve decided to lose about 50 lbs by the time the summer is over and so far I&#8217;m making great progress. I started my diet a little over a month ago and have already lost 14 lbs. I joined the gym. I go at least 4 times a week. Usually every day though unless another plan interrupts my schedule.  I am watching what I eat. I have cut my calories significantly and even started keeping a food diary, in which i also keep track of my exercise. I bought a pedometer and count me steps, basically I&#8217;ve improved my way tremendously since the year started. My question now is in regards to those infamous &quot;weight loss pills&quot;. I would like to add something to increase my energy, boost my metabolism, and just speed up the process. I am kind of in a hurry because I am planning a vacation and would like to possibly complete this before my initial plan. But how can you trust anything out there, really? Has anyone taken anything that they were satisfied with? Or does anybody have any tips in general?<br />
I tried the Slimquick, I even tried TrimSpa, but stopped taking them soon after. Trimspa still sits in my closet i took like 4 of them. Slimquick i used a whole bottle of, bought another one, went through half and then stopped because i wasn&#8217;t sure if they would interact with medications that i started taking at the time. I can say i was pretty satisfied with the results slimquick gave me. Still I would like to see what other options I have. The cost is also a concern, simply because I&#8217;m not rich and can&#8217;t afford to spend $100/month on weight loss pills. A friend of mine [body builder] swears by Hydroxycut. But not many other people I talked to recommended it, so any suggestions?<br />
<br />DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS! They are dangerous!!</p>
<p>Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5&#8242;11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn&#8217;t feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.</p>
<p>My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.</p>
<p>They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that&#8217;s why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.</p>
<p>I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.</p>
<p>Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I&#8217;ve lost weight after this)</p>
<p>The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.</p>
<p>Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.</p>
<p>In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)</p>
<p>Practice portion control. Yes, you&#8217;ll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won&#8217;t have that feeling anymore.</p>
<p>Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)</p>
<p>Go exercise for at least an hour a day, incorporating weight training. Weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition. Also do a few yoga and pilates exercises to help tone those hard to reach and stubborn areas.</p>
