What do other people do to control their weight?

I know that I have a tendancy to eat too much, but I’ve managed to get myself from a US 8 down to a 6 over the past few years. I weigh myself every day, walk 4-10 miles a day, and count calories (though I don’t deprive myself of anything). I’m just wondering what else people do to control their weight. I’m just looking for some new ideas

I workout and measure how many calories I burned, and then when I go to eat something bad, I think about how hard I had to work to burn off those calories. It usually causes me to eat something filling but more healthy. For example, I ate a salad with chicken last nite but since I had just worked out I decided to get grilled instead of fried so I wouldn’t kill my hard work.

for myself, all I do is exercise everyday(aerobics+abs) and eat very healthy foods (plenty of fruits and vegetables, no sweets, healthy desserts once in a while such as no bake apple pie made from apples, dates, nuts, no added sugar or fat etc, only whole wheat/grain bread…) for me that works best.

I just simply stay away from sugar and flour. When I have a craving I choose whole wheat bread or pasta or sugar free candy. Back about a year ago I lost 30lbs doing a combinations of the South Beach diet and Atkins. My weight bounces around a bit, but I a few days of strict cab counting brings me down to desired weight pretty fast. I do recommendd working out, of course, but I will admit I’ve slacked off a little during the winter.
It seems all you really need after gaining a little weight is a good month of dedication to get back in those skinny jeans or bathing suite.
The best advise I ever got was just choose a diet you can stick to for life, whether that is low calorie or low carb, or just saying no sometimes. Happiness is essintial to weight loss as well :-)
Sounds like you’re doung good though, stick with it!

I try to eat healthy at least 75% of the time, and allow myself some chocolate or pizza on a Friday or Wed. Something like that.

I also exercise EVERYDAY for at least 30-45 min, doing aerobics and weight training. I do it in my house, so it’s no problem to get started.

And in general I try to eat smaller portions, and more fruits and veggies as snacks, and not eat before I’m hungry.

    Never eat fast food either.

  9. Alright after your day at school or work you just want to eat the whole house, am i right??
So buy the slim fast powder -chocolate is the best- and pour it in with milk. You will still be hungry so have an orange banana or even a small cookie sit by the T.V. and enjoy your drink. After you drink it you will be mostly full. Its not about going on a diet its changing your lifestyle. If you go on a diet then go off of it you will gain the weight right back. Try to consume the most of your calories during the day. This will give you time to work off the food during the rest of your day. DO NOT LOOK UP A DIET ON THE INTERNET IT IS FALSE!!!!!!! Diets that tell you to eat 1500 calories a day DO NOT make you lose weight. Only eat when you are absolutely hungry. You are going to have to live with being a little hungry. When your on a low calorie diet its important to make every calorie count with fruit protein and fiber. Just healthy things. Be careful not to eat to many fiber foods (fruits vegies high fiber bread) this will make you sick.

A healthy and delicious meal.. a piece of good high fiber toast with peanut butter sliced bananas drizzled with a little bit of honey and thats about 300 to 350 calories. :)
